Bird wraps any website into a standalone desktop app with full session isolation. Each app has its own partition (cookies, localStorage, cache) — they never interfere with each other or with your main browser.
Beyond isolation:
- URL routing rules (control what opens internally, externally, or gets blocked) - Smart downloads (auto-open by MIME type, executable and dangerous file detection) - Kiosk mode with custom escape shortcuts - User-agent spoofing (test mobile layouts, bypass Electron detection) - Cache management per partition (max age, max size) - Ad blocking via Ghostery
For SaaS vendors (WIP): package Bird with a locked config to ship your web app as a branded desktop installer — out of the browser, native feel, ready to deploy.
Coming next: per-app themes, preload script injection for deeper SaaS integration.
