Show HN: The Rekord – Global AI-generated polls for major events

https://www.therekord.ai
1•shawarmazgreat•1h ago
I just launched The Rekord — AI turns world news into point-blank polls, and people around the world answer.

Today, the same questions are asked everywhere in fragmented silos — on Twitter/X in particular, polls are tied to accounts, timelines, and follower graphs — amplifying echo chambers instead of global insight.

The Rekord asks the same question once, translates it across languages, and aggregates responses in one place so people from different platforms vote on the same thing.

I’m posting this here mainly to get feedback from builders: what works, what doesn’t, and what would make this genuinely useful.

I’m considering features like public-figure approval ratings, light gamification (points/badges), richer comments (e.g. short videos), and stronger anonymity — curious what else you’d want to see.

Sample polls to get a sense of the polls:

Did Brahim Díaz miss the penalty on purpose?: https://www.therekord.ai/polls/cmklv519n00fqle1h59qy0qlo

Is Trump right that Canada lives because of the United States? https://www.therekord.ai/polls/cmksgwc2q0020l51he6s9vmq2

Should the ICE agents who shot Alex Pretti be charged with murder? https://www.therekord.ai/polls/cmku7cb10001jl41h1tz6pjlp

Landing page: https://www.therekord.ai

Built solo with Next.js, hosted on AWS Amplify, vibe-coded in Cursor, using LLM APIs for poll generation and translation.
