I built Filameter because I kept losing track of filament spools across multiple printers and didn’t want a spreadsheet or a cloud-only SaaS.
Filameter is a local-first web app for managing 3D printing filament inventory:
Track spools by material, color, brand, and remaining weight
Runs entirely in the browser using local storage
Optional device sync (manual or automatic)
Open source
The goal was something lightweight that works on desktop and mobile, doesn’t require an account, and still scales beyond a couple of spools.
