I’m working on a very early side project inspired by my own long-distance relationship.
We cared about each other, but many conflicts came from how we interpreted the same situation differently — not from the situation itself. Unspoken assumptions, different emotional needs, and different ways of reacting under stress seemed to matter more than facts.
I’m exploring whether a reflection-first tool could help people: - surface hidden assumptions - distinguish what happened from what they inferred - slow down reactions before responding
I’m not sure if this is actually useful beyond my own experience.
Ask HN: Does this resonate with what you’ve seen? Are there tools or frameworks you’ve found genuinely helpful for this kind of problem?
