Show HN: LinkBin – Modern URL shortener with analytics ($15 vs. bit.ly's $35)

https://linkbin-phi.vercel.app
1•Jollydevs•2h ago
I built LinkBin after getting frustrated with bit.ly's pricing and outdated UX. It's a modern URL shortener with detailed analytics for half the cost of enterprise alternatives.

Key features: • Better pricing: Pro plan at $14.99/mo vs bit.ly Enterprise at $35/mo • Modern analytics: Geo, device, referrer tracking with clean dashboard • Fast redirects: <100ms performance with global edge deployment • Developer API: RESTful endpoints for programmatic link management • Custom domains: Professional branding for businesses

Tech stack: Next.js 16, TypeScript, Vercel edge functions, PostgreSQL, Stripe

The free tier includes 50 links/month with basic analytics. Paid plans add advanced features like custom domains, API access, and extended retention.

Live demo: Try shortening a URL at https://linkbin-phi.vercel.app

I'm particularly proud of the analytics dashboard - it shows detailed click data with charts and geographic breakdown, something that's either missing or expensive in other tools.

Pricing comparison: • LinkBin Pro: $14.99/mo (unlimited links, custom domains, 1yr retention) • bit.ly Enterprise: $35/mo (similar features) • TinyURL Pro: $19.99/mo (basic analytics only)

Questions for the community: 1. What features would make you switch from your current URL shortener? 2. How important are custom domains vs analytics for your use case? 3. Any feedback on the pricing strategy?

The app is live and accepting payments. Would love feedback from the HN community!
