I often need to generate PDFs (reports, invoices, documents) in backend services. HTML → PDF tools kept producing slightly different output depending on environment and fonts, which caused a lot of small but annoying issues.
LaTeX, while not fun to write, consistently produced the same PDF every time. So I wrapped it behind a small, stateless API that other applications can call.
How it works:
send LaTeX (JSON or files)
it compiles in an isolated environment
download the resulting PDF
It’s not an editor and not meant for interactive writing — just a reliable PDF engine for apps.
