Galloway is certainly milking his NYU donation for all it’s worth. He is 100% non academic and teaches one class per year as 'Professor of Practice' (aka Clinical Professor). I suppose if you’re a marketing professional, this is just what you do: frame things in a way that is materially misleading, but correct in some other sense and build upon it.
Other Professors of Practice include Matthew McConaughey, Jamie Hyneman, yet none of them try to build their brand around it.
