AI systems increasingly make or shape decisions that affect people: credit approvals, insurance underwriting, content moderation, hiring.

We often say “human in the loop.” In practice, that involvement is now invisible.

I believe that is a problem.

“Closed by a Human” is a disclosure standard: a public signal that a real person reviewed and approved a decision.

This is not an AI audit or a guarantee of quality. It’s a visibility commitment.

The premise is simple: automation without visibility erodes accountability, and accountability matters more as systems scale.
