Canada Has a Secessionist Movement on Its Hands. Its Supporters Thank Trump

The Alberta secessionists are a minority even within Alberta. But them colluding with Trump administration officials to undermine Canada’s sovereignty is treasonous. And Canada must come down hard on them to avoid this becoming a bigger issue.

Actually, it has two of them as the Separatists are poised to win in Quebec. However, it’s (far?) less likely to see an independent Quebec look to the US as they’d have to give up on French. And if they’re going to do that, why not stay with Canada.

We’ll see how the First Nations deal with this as they’d have claim to most the land, and how people actually vote when facing the possibility. At least Quebec has gone through the practice of being a real country with its on police, taxes, …. Alberta has done none of this. And a hostile exit from Canada will mean its sole access will be to the us.

Absolutely. The Quebec secessionist movement is relatively much older and much stronger than the Alberta one, but they are not natural allies of the Trumpists. Or at least that's my understanding, as someone who's not Canadian but has some family there.
