I have been trying in vain to reset the bluetooth state on my Mac since my keyboard suddenly stopped connecting. I have deleted every preference file, booted into recovery mode to rm the databases protected by "system integrity", seemingly every single file that bluetoothd touches as reported by lsof.

Can any Apple engineers shed some light on why they've made it impossible to reset broken bluetooth state?
