My cursory Google Maps inspection reveals that India still lags behind Pakistan.

India is adding 2GW of solar every month, with 105GW currently in development pipelines.
With that said, they're still adding coal capacity, so lots of solar, wind, and battery storage to deploy to destroy demand for existing and thermal generation (208GW of coal, 25GW of fossil gas as of this comment per Electricity Maps). Have to reach low carbon deployment escape velocity.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_power_in_India ("Solar power is an important source of electricity in India. Since the mid-2010s, India has increased its solar power significantly with the help of various government initiatives. By January 2026, India's solar power installed capacity reached 140.6 GWAC. India is one of the world's fastest adopters of solar power, making it the third-largest producer of solar power globally as of 2025, after China and the United States.")
(Global solar module manufacturing capacity is ~1.8TW/year as of this comment)

(India currently has 154.4GW/year of solar manufacturing capacity, 3x the country's current annual demand)

Note this facility in India was the biggest in the world a few years back

but has been eclipsed by some very big facilities in China lately
