openai has largely not stood in the way of devs for opencode use. Anthropic has backtracked their policy and is not enforcing it. Now Google is (as usual) incinerating good will it gained for a product by banning not only free accounts for opencode use, but accounts that are paying them hundreds of dollars per month.
I think it's time all these companies embraced open source solutions to their substandard products instead of fighting against them - AG is good, but it's not as good as opencode. Why would Google risk losing all that revenue by banning outright use of Antigravity! Can this trillion dollar company not come up with a way to just block opencode requests? Which although I disagree with as it falls foul of The Digital Human Right of Adversarial Interoperability, Google also bans AI Ultra subscribers from using Antigravity itself!!
It may seem that those hundreds of dollars per account are better spent empowering Chinese model companies like z.ai instead so they can accelerate improvements to their GLM open models.
