Vibe-coded a Chemistry Lab Simulator — open-sourcing it (alpha)
Built a browser-based virtual chemistry lab using Claude Code, with the hope that it could help Cambridge AS Level
(Class XI) students try experiments and attempt past paper questions without needing a real lab.
Features were developed with continuous input and testing from an AS Level student.
Students from other boards can also use the Free Lab section for individual chemical tests.

This looks pretty cool.
Especially if it is supposed to conform to an established curriculum, AI defects should become more obvious, and as long as the code is sensible, corrections should accumulate until it's as good as it can get.
For repeatable, reproducible work, I like to rehearse rehease rehearse and it would be good to have some preliminary virtual rehearsal beforehand so students end up getting more out of their valuble bench time.
If people had all the new concepts and procedures under their belt to a certain extent virtually, they might be able to concentrate more in the lab on the physical things like safety and manual techniques for turning what they know into what they can do, which is the real objective.
One possible downside would be if educators end up substituting virtual wet lab for the real thing.
