Solution to HN getting overwhelmed problem

These days I go to new/ and it is overwhelming. Large quantity of low quality submissions.

Proposed solution: limit submissions to accounts with >X karma (eg. 500 karma) OR older than Y years (eg 5 years).

Both of these scale into the future as one can reach both conditions without ever submitting (eventually).

I think we should just be able to filter out what we want to ignore. So we just have tags on all types of posts we can use when we submit and when we sort by new we can filter out topics or search by topic. So if i dont want to see ai links anything people tag as ai wont pop up.
