Nano Banana 2 is out. To be honest, it’s okay but hasn't really wowed me. If talking pure realism, Nano Banana Pro is still the best. But Gemini has swapped Nano Banana Pro for nb2 as the default across Fast, Thinking, and Pro. It’s a bit frustrating, we're paying the same price but getting what feels like a downgrade in service. To still use Nano Banana pro, I’ve put together a few ways and hopefully these help some of you out.

Gemini 1. Generate your image as normal in Gemini, it will default to Nano Banana 2 2. Do NOT refresh or close the chat, the option disappears if you do, and then click the three-dot menu(⋯) under the generated image 3. Select "Redo with Pro" Addendum: It counts as two generations

Google AI Studio AI Studio lets you directly call Nano Banana Pro → aistudio.google.com

Third-party platforms with Nano Banana Pro access 1. AtlasCloud.ai 2. Fal AI 3. Freepik 4. OpenArt
