Investor Sam Lessin likens Iran war to Purim, the murder of 75,000 Persians

For those unaware, Purim celebrates the pre-emptive killing of 75,000 Persians, who were alleged to be plotting against the Jews: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purim

Which confuses me, because why do so many refer to "Judeo-Christian" values, when one book celebrates pre-emptive attacks and commands killing even the women and children of your enemies [1], while the other commands forgiveness and turning the other cheek.

[1] "God then commands Saul to destroy the Amalekites, by killing man, woman, infant and suckling." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amalek
