Full title: Reese’s didn’t change its chocolate because of corporate greed. It was climate change.

This product used to be a favorite of mine when I was a kid, but today, it tastes so artificial and inferior. Terrible chocolate and peanut butter. Nope.

> a move almost certainly driven by cocoa prices that have surged by 400% in the past decade, as climate-driven droughts devastated harvests across West Africa, where the majority of the world’s supply is grown.

How does this square with the story from yesterday about African farmers letting their fields rot due to a massive decrease in price?

To me this all sounds more like PE playing games to bankrupt industries and hoover up supply from the desperate.
