Ask HN: What are your favorite books?

2•amunozo•1h ago
I read a decent number of books every year, but I find myself reading the same topics and genres most of the time. I’d love to hear some of your favorite books, from any genre, language, or topic. The more diverse, the better, since I’m trying to get out of my reading comfort zone.

Some books I’ve liked recently or that are all-time favorites: Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky, Debt by David Graeber, and The Anatomy of a Moment by Javier Cercas.

I just finished the Player of Games by Iain M Banks and I can highly recommend it as a timeless sci-fi, which I found prompted a lot of introspection.

The books of Andy Weir (The Martian, Project Hail Mary) are also a lot of fun.

Thanks for the recommendation! I do not read much sci-fi, so this things like something I was looking for.
