I've been applying through HN Who's Hiring threads, YC job boards, and direct outreach. Getting responses, but I've noticed a lot of roles either require US/EU residency or are equity-only.
For engineers outside the US/EU who are doing paid contract work with startups: how did you find those engagements? What platforms or approaches actually worked? Did you go through agencies, direct outreach, or something else?
Curious what's working for others in similar positions.
