Study: Tweets expressing uncertainty receive ~25% more engagement

I'm the author of this paper. I analyzed 16,695 Arabic tweets about Lebanon posted on X and found that tweets expressing uncertainty receive about 25% higher average engagement than more definitive tweets.

The effect appears particularly strong in replies. The paper discusses possible mechanisms behind this pattern and includes the dataset methodology.
