I recently joined the small team behind Flamingo Compliance startup, which has been around since 2022. I’m sharing it here because it solves a very specific problem that usually seems unnecessary right up until one extra day starts to matter.
Flamingo Compliance is an app for tracking physical presence across countries, US states, and some US cities (NYC), with tools for tax residency and visa timelines. The product is built around physical presence tracking, residency / visa timelines, and reports that can be used for personal records or shared with advisors.
A few cases where this comes up:
- moving from New York or California to a no-income-tax state and needing a defensible record for the transition year
- splitting time across countries and realizing too late that reconstructing travel from tickets and calendars is messy
- tracking visa or residency presence requirements and needing alerts before crossing a threshold
You can install it and try it without signing up.
I’d be especially interested to hear from people who’ve had to deal with this in real life: what are you using today, where does it break, and what would you want from a tool like this?
