Ask HN: Broken "Public Research Articles" Link: Any Support for Google Scholar?

1•yann-gael•1h ago
Google Scholar "now" uses a folder in Google Drive to store the PDFs of public articles.

The link in my Google Scholar profile doesn't exist, and visiting it returns a 404 error. I cannot upload new articles that I'd like to share publicly!

I went through all (?) the options of my Google account, but I couldn't find any way to change the folder used by Google Scholar.

I tried to contact Google Support, but no answer, of course. I'm not even sure that there's someone from Google Scholar who reads the support tickets related to Google Scholar.

Steps to reproduce: - I log into my Google Scholar account - I have articles that don't have a PDF, so a box appears at the top of my profile page titled "Review public access" with a link "REVIEW" - I click on "REVIEW" to go to a page titled "Articles with public access mandates". This page shows a list of articles with missing PDFs. Next to each article is a big blue button "UPLOAD PDF". - I click on one of these blue buttons to open a kind of dialogue box titled "Upload". It shows the title and authors of the selected article. It also displays the message "The article you upload to your Google Drive will be public - anyone will be able to view it. To replace the PDF, simply upload another version. To delete it, visit the "Public research articles" folder in your Google Drive." The text "Public research articles" is actually a link pointing to a folder in my Google Drive. - When I click on this link "Public research articles", I get a 404 error with the message "The requested URL was not found on this server. That's all we know."

Could anyone help? Or am I missing something?
