I don't have the good fortune to be paid to write Rust, but I've coded a bunch of personal projects in it. It was a challenge at first, and whenever I take a few months off and come back, I find that I have to relearn some things. And some things persistently make me sad, like the sync-async gap mentioned here.
But I feel like whenever I come back, the language is better than I left it. I really appreciate that there's one thing in the world that seems to be getting unambiguously better. I appreciate things like this that let me know that the Rust Team still sees the gaps between the real and the ideal and are working to address them.
