Man arrested on child sexual abuse charge after license plate reader pings

Kind of a useless story - some yokel with child abuse charges pending has his license plate viewed by an ALPR and get arrested. I mean, great that he got arrested, but it seems like he would have gotten arrested shortly without the invasive ALPR.

Why post this? It's got no interesting technical details, no wider import, and the yokel isn't a well know hacker. Is this some sort of pro-Flock submarine propaganda? Are we all supposed to say "oh, that's great, we can live with Big Brother monitoring our license plates and movements now that we know a kiddy diddler got busted because of ALPR"?
