"Companies like Meta and Uber are tracking AI token usage in performance reviews, putting pressure on engineers to use it heavily — irrespective of the tools’ quality impact."

If I were under this pressure, I would write a program that just sucked up tokens to make it look like I'm using it.

This kind of AI usage isn't going to make things more efficient or better for Meta and Uber's products. It will only create a situation where you either game the system or use AI slop to make your minimums.
