We just shipped a set of tools to make CockroachDB more usable for AI agents in real-world environments.
The problem we were trying to solve is that most database tooling assumes a human operator. Agents need structured interfaces, constrained actions, and workflows that work well from automation (not just tools built for humans).
Here’s what’s new:
* MCP servers for secure, structured agent access to managed databases and CockroachDB documentation
* A revamped ccloud CLI that agents can actually use
* An open agent skills repo so agents can operate against clusters more effectively, with guardrails
This is for people experimenting with coding agents, operator agents, and internal platform automation around databases.
