CockroachDB has just dropped a bunch of AI-ready features

We just shipped a set of tools to make CockroachDB more usable for AI agents in real-world environments.

The problem we were trying to solve is that most database tooling assumes a human operator. Agents need structured interfaces, constrained actions, and workflows that work well from automation (not just tools built for humans).

Here’s what’s new:

* MCP servers for secure, structured agent access to managed databases and CockroachDB documentation * A revamped ccloud CLI that agents can actually use * An open agent skills repo so agents can operate against clusters more effectively, with guardrails

This is for people experimenting with coding agents, operator agents, and internal platform automation around databases.

We’d love feedback from anyone building agents that need to interact with production infrastructure.

Disclosure: I work at Cockroach Labs.
