Hey there, I ran into a problem, because I transferred thousands of photos from my phones onto my hard drive but never bothered actually sorting them manually so it was just a mess of folders upon folders. I didnt want to use Google Photos or anything like that because I would have to upload all my photos to the web and pay a monthly subscription. So I coded this using Claude and it worked really well for me: Photo Sorter — Automatically Organize Your Photos into Folders | PhotoSort It actually detects the location of photos, timestamps and everything and sorts them into folders, like this: 2026 - location, event - location, event - other (screenshots invoices/random stuff) 2025 - location, event - location, event

No photos are uploaded to the web, everything is done locally on your computer so your photos never leave your computer.

I showed it to a friend of mine and he was super happy with it too and he suggested I should make a website for it, so here it is, maybe it helps you too!
