I agree but the industry has been moving in the opposite direction for about 20 years, well before LLMs.
The goal has generally been fewer people writing original software for employment but growing the number of jobs that extend prior created solutions. The output is less skilled people that easier to replace. Now with LLMs the industry is finding that people who write original software cannot be replaced by LLMs but those many easily replaceable people can be.
