UK forced to halt Chagos Islands deal after Trump criticism

The majority will be happy in the UK as this was a nonsensical deal (to give away the islands then rent the land for the military base back does not make any sense). But in term of sovereignty this also shows that the US have veto power over the UK's own territories...
