I'm no longer in software engineering, but still in tech. I regularly use AI to improve my productivity and have an open mind about using new tools.

However, I try not to rely on it too much. In a couple of years, people that actually have the skills will be more in demand than ever, because everyone relying on AI will spend more time pushing agents around and prompt engineering than learning fundamentals. I already see it happening now. Especially with non-tech people trying to break into tech.

Human senior engineers today are training the AI senior engineers of tomorrow.

In 10 years, both juniors and seniors will be replaced by AI.

These AI engineers will be supervised by a team of human AI developers that will supervise not only AI engineers but all AI employees a company would have.
