For past several decades, engineering value has lived in optimizing for whatever was scarce. Compute, then complexity, then distribution at scale. Each time the industry industrialized one bottleneck, value migrated to the next. AI has industrialized code production. So the bottleneck has shifted again, to knowing whether generated output is correct, safe, and worth shipping.
