Given the AI race is a race to zero, Apple won by doing nothing but improving their own hardware + software because they were already at the finish line; thanks to Apple Silicon.

The ones who are not releasing open weight models will lose this race and it is Anthropic, that has never done that.

For them, this race is not possible for them to win because they cannot afford the compute and keep prices low or close to $0 to serve their customers reliably.

So eventually, they will continue to raise prices and customers will begin to move to cheaper alternatives or local models entirely.

Anthropic does not want people running local AI models on their own machines.
