I have seen a few optics and MATLAB posts here, so figured this would be a good place to show case this.
A quick link to all the 'good stuff' is in a reddit post with pretty pictures and links: https://www.reddit.com/r/Optics/comments/1sy6z3h/optical_sys...
Something that might align with the current trend of agentic dev: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpxse2glA6E Since this just came out last week, LLM's have not yet seen it. But I had a hunch that our doc and REPL would allow an agent to explore and figure out the API easily. I was also hoping that the usual effort we put into our error/warnings messages would be more useful for an agent than a user :D (I lost count of how many times I glaze over red text and assume I know what went wrong!) - it got pretty far IMO!
Would love some feedback from domain experts! (Or anyone really :D).
If you already have MATLAB R2026a and the Image Processing Toolbox, download this free add-on: https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/matlab_env/get-add-ons... (Search for "Optical Design and Simulation") If not, you could kick the tires with a free 30-day trial - remember to download the Image Processing Toolbox too. https://matlab.mathworks.com/
