I read a lot of manhwa, manga and watch anime. At some point I tried to keep all my collection on MAL, then noticed that it does not have enough manhwa titles for me to track everything I've read and want to read. Then I turned to one not-so-official website that had everything Manhwa, Manga, Manhua (some titles you could not find anywhere but there) But it closed at the end of last year. I made screenshots of my lists and put everything in Google Sheet and it was ugly....

Then our CEO was strongly advising everyone to install and use Claude Code. I optimized my work as much as I could and decided to see if I can code something with it on Mac. Then I had an idea to code a catalogue app to move my library into something on device. This is how Manishelf was born.

I'm not a dev, however, I worked in tech support for over 10 years and it helped me get it to the level that makes me prod of what I've built.

I'm not sure if there is an audience for it though and I do not have a lot of people to show it to so I hoped you guys can share some feedback

I have some free download codes, please let me know if you want to install it on your device and test it (not available in EU App Store for now)

So here is what Manishelf does

1) You can import lists from MAL, Anilist. We get scores, chapter progress, bookmarks (completed, on hold etc) Pull metadata from API - MangaUpdates, Jikan, MangaDex, Anilist etc

2) You can add titles manually or from a link and we pull all metadata we can for it

3) There is calendar where you can see all ongoing tiles that are currently airing. For anime we get live notifications (exact time), for mahwa it's complicated, but I've set up a flexible system where you can select airing schedule (day of the week, every N days etc)

4) Notifications are sent in app with links that are selected as default for each title

5) You can sort titles in categories like "In progress", "Up next", "Backlog", "Finished", "Dropped", "On hold"

6) We pull tags, there is tag search and filter, tag cleanup

7) Library is stored offline, there is backup option and restore/import

8) There is also Discover option with recomendations based on most common tags and Stats with progress

There are more quality of life features of course, I will not bore you with all the details

My main point is that you own your library, it is not stored on some website that can close. There is also convenience of having everything in one place
