The Best Lesson I Never Asked For

1•spkrninv•58m ago
Today, my 13-year-old computer finally broke down. I spent so much time perfecting the UI and my project that I haven’t been able to launch it yet. Now I’m trying to use my phone in Claude iOS to launch the project and save up money to buy a MacBook Neo to keep my life going. This will probably be the best lesson I’ve learned. Luckily, I pushed all the code to GitHub before I went to sleep, and when I woke up, a power surge destroyed my 13-year-old HDD.

This resonated with me. Something similar happened when I started my first job at 18 at a startup had to borrow a laptop just to get going. After a few months of grinding, I finally saved up and bought my own. The painful part? I hadn't backed up anything back then, total newbie move. Lost work I can never recover. You're already ahead of where I was at least you pushed to GitHub.
