I have an idea that could be worth billions, & I'm giving it away for free

A website where you chat with people & share your chats.

It's an alternative to podcasts, & better because people can think better reading & writing instead of listening & speaking.

The podcast market size is projected to reach 130.6 billion dollars in 2030.

Roughly 3/4 of podcasts can be done better as a text-based chat than as an audio-based chat.

so, IRC/Slack/Discord ...?

No. You have chats like in Whatsapp, then you share these chats like Youtube videos. People then read & comment on these chats.

How is that different from a discussion forum?

Also, I think it's pretty normal to listen to podcasts when you're actively engaged in another activity like driving or cooking, and that's probably a big reason behind their popularity. You can't do that with a text-based chat, unless there's someone to read the text to you...in which case I think everyone would choose to hear it in the speakers' original voices.

Many listeners of podcasts are doing so while multi-tasking. Text based would be requiring direct attention that I don't think would win over the vast majority of people.

You're right. I got this from AI.

Based on research, a significant majority of podcast listeners—up to 94%—multitask while tuning in, with about 59% doing so regularly. Podcasts are often chosen because they allow listeners to consume content while their hands and body are occupied with other tasks.

But even 6% to 41% of the market is still alot.
