Pre-2021 was the best of times online. I remember back then it was great. You'd chat with strangers and felt like family. There were no AI bots, but also much nicer communities, everyone was cool, easier to get followers on Twitter or other social media, less saturation and censorship. Just better in every way. If you missed out too late. It's not coming back. 2011 was even better but I don't have as much memory of it, but it was even more chill. The problem has become politics has bled into everything . I think a worsening political climate has affected how people conduct themselves online.
