This was already sorted out. People that smoke or have candles lose consciousness for an assortment of reasons. Their clothes catch fire and their body fat makes their clothes burn like a wick. Not hot enough to start a house fire and just hot enough their body is consumed as fuel. The end result will leave the shoes in place if they were wearing any and it will appear they spontaneously combusted. This has been repeatedly tested and proven using pigs in clothing which I am not in favor of.
