> Price adjustment as of April 1, 2026 (announced Feb 23, effective Apr 1): Across-the-board increase covering Cloud, dedicated servers (EX/AX/RX/SX/GPU/BRANDS), Storage Box, Object Storage, Storage Share, web hosting, Load Balancers, SSL, and domains. Applies to both new orders and existing contracts — no grandfathering. Reported ranges: cloud servers +30-37%, object storage +30-53%, dedicated servers ~+20% (AX42 €47.30 → €57.30; DX293 €305.60 → €355.60). Entry-level CX23 went €2.99 → €3.99. Hetzner cites “dramatically” higher hardware acquisition costs — DRAM up 171% YoY, NAND flash doubling, HDD supply consumed by AI buildout.

The AI 'revolution' is subsidized by all of us:

1) Permanently increased device costs, across all devices (phones, laptops) memory, ssd, cpu supply chains built for people are hijacked by mega corps

2) Permanently increased power prices

3) Government subsidies, contracts and the eventual bailouts

4) Increased DC costs, which increases costs for ALL businesses

5) Inevitable large scale job losses, when the execs are unable to show AI investments paying off. We can't make AI work, therefore we layoff people.

AI will cost the rest of us trillions every year. Permanently. We are creating another massive tax on all the people in the world, just like Oil. At least oil/fossil fuels were necessary because of energy density and Solar/batteries/EVs were not viable. AI hype is an unforced error, capturing massive amounts of money to make everyones lives worse. Even third world countries with sub-saharan living conditions are also offering mind boggling incentives to these companies for what will be 50 - 100 jobs total:
