Hi everyone,

I’m currently a software engineer and I’d like to transition from being an employee to working independently as a consultant or advisor.

My main concerns are, unsurprisingly, how to build a network and how to find the first customers.

I’d love to hear from experienced independent developers: if you had to start from scratch today, what would you do to find clients?

What worked for you, what didn’t, and what would you avoid?
