HN’s content has always been great, but the interface, not so much. I wanted to feel the live movement of Digg, stories reordering in real time based on rank. That quickly escalated, turning into a multi-feed blend from arXiv, Product Hunt, Ars Technica, Bleeping Computer and many more. The Hot tab combines them all based on rank without letting any single feed overpower the rest. No login needed to give it a try.

A few technical notes for those curious about how it works:
For HN stories, ranking is left untouched. HN’s algorithm works well, why mess with it?
Each story runs through multi-label categorization so a single story can appear in multiple relevant categories simultaneously. The Hot tab uses a round-robin blend, so all sources have a chance to be seen, regardless of volume.
The CVE enrichment is something I’m particularly happy with. Any story containing a CVE ID triggers an NVD lookup that attaches the CVSS severity score. Useful for the security folks in the room.
Also, stories linking to known paywalled domains are tagged upfront so you know before you click.
Free tier is the top 60 stories, no login needed. First login starts a free Pro trial with everything unlocked, no credit card required.
How do you feel about the Hot category? I went through several iterations trying to get it right and would love to know if the format works for you.
