>You might be wondering if I track my kids. I refuse to track them on principle, because I want them to feel the same freedom I had growing up.
On the one hand, yeah ultimate freedom for your kids would be no tracking and let them do whatever they want, but would you not let them do more things on their own if you knew their location? I'm not talking about in a non-consensual way where the parent forces it on the kid, but both parent and kid might enjoy the safety of knowing where each-other are during an adventure.
Does anyone know any e2ee or self-hostable find my alternative for Android? Findmy-foss is good for finding your phone, but not for sharing location privately.
I really appreciate that findmy is e2ee by Apple–if it weren't for that I would be mightily opposed like I am to life-360.
