Will there also be standards around the format and replacements? I liked removable batteries for many reasons but, by the time replacements are absolutely needed, all the original stock of proprietary batteries has aged beyond use, or have become insanely expensive, and the alternatives tend to be scary.

I have a lot of batteries for air soft, rc, hobby electronics, etc. Every battery comes with crazy warnings, and the reviews filled with horror stories of swelling, bursting, going up in flames, because it wasn't quite the right battery for the device. I have to keep them all in a fire safe container while charging so I can sleep at night.
