I wouldn't even say "certain" products, I'd say "all" products.

With so many companies pushing products as a front of a the hidden business model of data collection/selling, this has become my biggest issue. I think more and more people are trending this way as they realize just how pervasive this data collection has become.

When I look around in the app store, one of the first things I look at is app privacy section. If it says "data not collected" it instantly jumps to the top of the list. The longer that list, the worse it is. Things that look like Facebook's app privacy section aren't even considered.

I'm shocked so many "product people" don't get this. I don't honestly believe they'd want to use the products they produce, knowing all the data collection going on. While some analytics may be collected just to improve the product, think of the optics. You may have good intent, and you know nothing shady is going on, but to a consumer in the current environment, it all looks bad.
