Auto-geo – open-source CLI for GEO that helps get your brand mentioned by LLMs

We just open-sourced auto-geo: a file-based GEO CLI that helps gets your brand mentioned in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Grok.

I work at Shadow Inc, an AI PR lab, and found the paid GEO tools on the market are way to expensive for what they offer and wanted to make this something anyone can standup and manage themselves.

It's pretty comprehensive in terms of what you need to improve and monitor your AI visibility, but it's still early days and we'd love to have more collaborators support the project.

Install: npm i -g auto-geo or brew install shadowresearch/tap/auto-geo(standalone binaries on the releases page).

Setup: auto-geo init

auto-geo prompt: track the queries you want to be cited for, in a plain-text committable file. `prompts discover` has an LLM read your homepage and propose them.

auto-geo check: asks Perplexity, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok those queries for real and records whether your domain shows up in the citations. Every run is saved to a local history.

auto-geo history: diffs runs over time: which prompts you newly won, which you lost. auto-geo doctor <url>: audits any page for AI-citation readiness (structure, answer-first capsules, chunkability).

auto-geo write / fix: generate or rewrite pages against the same schema doctor audits.

Would love to hear auto-geo match what you're seeing in the with any alternatives you're using and how we can make it better.

Really appreciate any feedback on DX and if you find a bug please share!
