Talking to startups and founders I have not heard anyone recently mention IPO as a goal anymore, even very far off. I do more than ever though hear acquisition as an active target for liquidation. I wonder how many companies are starting with "we want to get acquired by X or Y company" specifically? Even in private markets we see the large players acquiring for talent or IP on a bit of a spree (data might say otherwise thats just my read).
