What should we do with the saying "art is in the eyes of the beholder?"

I was sent a slop deck by Google, and while there was an ai gen'd image of Claude (among many terrible things), it has become "art" among our slack emojis that I've come to appreciate for how we use it

Rubbish. Artists/creators/tortured souls with berets and clove cigarettes don't get to define what art is or isn't.

Art is that which moves us, and "us" isn't a committee of gatekeepers; it's fractal down to the individual (or even the individual-circumstance) level.
