Ask HN: Confidence and Determination. How?

1•NarcisMirandes•1h ago
Paul Graham often mentions confidence and determination as important founder traits.

- Unlike technical skills, these seem harder to learn. Can confidence and determination be deliberately developed, or are they mostly personality traits?

- If they can be developed, what has worked for you?

- Looking back, what increased your confidence the most:?

Confidence: partly hereditary, partly behavioral feedback loops.

What doesn't work is "feeling confident before doing the thing". Instead, it is "do the thing repeatedly at the edge of your comfort zone and confidence follows".

The feeling of confidence lags behavior.
