Anyone else receive a "GPU droplet destroyed" email from DigitalOcean

3•reassess_blind•1h ago
Hello,

About 3 hours ago I received this email, despite not having (ever?) created a GPU droplet with DigitalOcean. The Audit Log of my account seems to confirm no unusual activity and no GPU droplets created/destroyed.

Has anyone else received this email in error?

Title: Regarding your destroyed GPU Droplet

Body:

Your GPU Droplet has been successfully destroyed. Billing for this resource has been stopped immediately.

If you are planning future GPU projects, you can explore the following resources to help you get started:

- GPU Droplets Documentation Step-by-step guides for setup and management. - Creating a GPU Droplet Quick-start instructions.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please reply to this email or open a ticket in our Support portal.

Thanks

Update: DigitalOcean support confirms I received this email by mistake.

Was a bit concerning as the obvious assumption was that the account was hacked to mine crypto on a gpu.

I received a similar email 10 years ago for a droplet I did want, they said they lost it, and could not recover it. I went to Linode after that and have been happy ever since.
