They want to launch satellites to space, and channel Sun power back to Earth with millimeter Waves to power isolated platforms (like oil platforms, or islands). So the power chain goes like this : Sun Rays —> Electric Power (solar pannels) —> Electromagnetic Waves (a specific RF circuit and TX Antenna) —> Electric Power again back to earth (TX Antenna) Straight up Star Wars tech, they have 84 lines of R&D. Got me wondering, is this even physically possible ? What may be their expected power efficiency ? And is there even an ROI in terms of funding ? Would this have any kind of applications in transmitting power from satellite to satellite (for instance to power data centers?)
